WINTER INDOOR 2022-2023
GVAA Field Hockey – Winter Indoor League 2022-2023
Introduction
GVAA field hockey will be offering a winter indoor program for Winter 2022-2023 in coordination with Howard County Recreation and Parks (HCRP) field hockey league. This is a great opportunity for middle school players to continue playing field hockey throughout the winter months.
Join us in this fast-paced league! Play on regulation-size courts with an optimal, indoor playing surface. Compete in two 25-minute, 6 vs. 6 games per night.
Player Requirements
- Open to all middle school players currently in 6th, 7th or 8th grades
- Indoor stick, mouth guard, and shin guards required. Outdoor sticks not permitted.
Season Dates
- Practices will be held in Walkersville once per week beginning December 2, 2022.
- Games are on Sunday afternoons/evenings.
- Games run December 11, 2022 - March 5, 2023
(no games 12/25, 1/1, 1/8, 2/12 and 2/19)
- Registration deadline: October 31, 2022 **EXTENDED until 11/15/22 or until team fills (whichever comes first)

Registration Fee: $150
Uniform
- Provided league t-shirt (included in registration fee)
- Solid black athletic shorts (must provide your own)
- Gold shin guard sleeves (available for purchase from team if needed - $10)
Equipment Required
- Indoor field hockey stick (outdoor sticks may not be used)
- Shin guards
- Mouth guard
- Tennis shoes or Court shoes
- No goggles are required for indoor field hockey
- Corner face masks are optional
Max Roster Size (established by league)
- Because we play 6 vs. 6 games, each team is limited to 14 players max
