6:00-8:00p on Tuesday, October 18th and Thursday, October 20th

Boys
JV (6/7): 6:00-7:30p on Friday, October 14th, and Wednesday, October 19th
Varsity (8): 7:30-9:00p on Friday, October 14th, and Wednesday, October 19th

All tryouts will be at Walkersville Middle School

Coaches are asking that all players be registered online in order to participate.

Tryouts will be closed to coaches and players only.

GVAA Intramural & Travel Basketball

GVAA offers both Intramural and Travel Team opportunities.  For younger athletes (Grades K-2) we provide a weekly instructional clinic.  Intramural (Grades 3-12) teams compete in the Monocacy Youth Basketball League (MYBL) and play both home and away games against other area recreation programs, as well as GVAA teams.  Travel Teams (Grades 6-8) compete in the Mid-Maryland Basketball League and play against teams affiliated along Middle School draw areas.

K-2 Clinic $70.00

If your athlete is selected for the travel team the additional fee ($90) will be due at a later date.

Travel Team Information

We sponsor four teams (Boys and Girls Varsity & JV) in the Mid-Maryland Youth Basketball League.  These are competitive teams and are selected by tryouts only.

Travel Team tryouts for both boys and girls will be held the last week of October at Walkersville Middle School and practice will begin immediately after team selection. Regular season games will begin in December and run through end of March.

There is an additional fee that must be paid upon selection to a travel team.  Total fee for Travel team is $220 ($130 at registration, $90 payable after selection to the team).

The same academic eligibility requirements that must be met at the high school level also apply to travel teams.  There is no guarantee of playing time for those selected for travel teams.

Intramural Team Information

Intramural teams are grouped by grade (3rd/4th, 5th/6th, 7th/8th, 9th/10th) for both girls and boys. The league will offer one age group for High School girls the teams will be 9th-12th.
There will be NO Boys 11th/12th grade teams in the league this year.

Practices for all Intramural teams will begin November 12th. Regular season games will begin in January.

We rely on parents to participate to make our basketball program successful.

The fee for all intramural age groups is $130 which includes team jersey.

K-2 Clinic Information

We offer clinic program for Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd graders for an 8-10 week period.  During these sessions young athletes will receive instruction on all fundamental aspects of the game & near end of program participate in game situations. Clinic will begin in December.

Clinic fee is $70 and will include tee-shirt or bag for each participant.
